Thyme is a delicate looking evergreen herb with a penetrating fragrance.It is used in traditional medicine as a remedy for expectoration, bronchitis, laryngitis, bronchopneumonia, asthma and flu, because of the essential oil that acts both as antiseptic and anti-inflammatory.

Thyme Tea for High Temperature / Fever

Make a mixture with 20 grams of thyme, 20 grams of chamomile and 20 grams of linden. Take one tablespoon from the mixture and put it in a cup and pour 200 ml of hot boiled water. Let it rest for about 10 minutes then strain it so there aren’t any herbs left. Drink couple cups per day till you feel healthy again.

Thyme Tea for Upset Stomach / Dyspepsia

Take a tablespoon of thyme, boil in around 2 minutes in 200 ml water and cover it. After 10 minutes strain it and drink it.

Tea for Getting a Better Sleep and Neurological Disorders

Take one teaspoon of dried yellow wort(St.John’s wort) and one teaspoon of dried thyme, pour 200 ml boiling water. Let it rest a bit, strain it and drink half an hour before meal, 2-3 times a day.

Thyme Tea for assisting in fighting Asthma and Allergies 


You make a mixture from 20 grams of thyme and 20 grams of coltsfoot. From the mixture you take one tablespoon and pour 200 ml of boiling water. Cover it and let it sit for 15 minutes, then strain it and drink it 2-3 times a day before meals. The treatment lasts for 2 weeks, then you pause for a week and if needed you repeat the process again. This tea can be used for acute or chronic bronchitis, to cough out sputum, emphysema, pollen and dust allergies and chronic inflammations.
